The weather forecast is looking glorious for tomorrow and we can’t wait to see you at CHALK-A-BLOCK!

WHERE: CURRENT TideLock (1055 N. Fairfax St.)
Come watch the talented artists transform the interior drive at CURRENT TideLock into a vibrant outdoor art gallery, while you enjoy live music from The Okays, sip on a latte from DreamChaser’s Coffee and nibble on tasty bites from Jula’s on the Potomac, Hank’s Oyster Bar & Hank’s Pasta Bar, and Royal Restaurant.
Spend some time browsing goods from local artists and makers The Spicy Grasshopper, Stephen Lally Pottery, Divine Creations by Diany, Apothecary Spices, & 3D Printz 4You and create your own chalk masterpiece in the community chalk area with our wonderful volunteers from River Grove Therapy.
Make sure to arrive in time to cast your vote for the Banner Design Contest (voting closes at 12pm!) and the “People’s Choice” Award (voting closes at 1:30pm!). Our distinguished judging panel, Mayor Alyia Gaskins, The Art League Executive Director Suzanne Bethel, and OTNA President Ryan Whitaker, will select one artist to be honored as “Best in Show.”
Results of Community Vote for Banner Design Project,“Best in Show,” & “People’s Choice” will be Announced at CHALK-A-BLOCK Tomorrow at 1:45pm
The community vote to select an artist to design banners for the Old Town North Arts & Cultural District ends tomorrow at noon. Over 750 votes have been cast, and there is still time to cast your vote here.
The winning artist for the Banner Design Project will be announced at CHALK-A-BLOCK at 1:45pm along with the winners of the “Best in Show” and “People’s Choice” awards for CHALK-A-BLOCK.

Admission to CHALK-A-BLOCK is FREE and the event is open to the public. CHALK-A-BLOCK is designed for artists and art lovers of all ages. Street parking is available nearby, and visitors are encouraged to bike or walk, as TideLock is conveniently located right along the Mount Vernon Trail.
