3rd Annual Chalk-A-Block
Chalk art by Anila Angjeli and & Norah Bellacicco (Chalk-A-Block 2025).
The Old Town North Alliance presents the 3rd Annual Chalk-A-Block from 11am to 2pm on Saturday, September 19th. Visit the newly completed TideLock project in Old Town North (The Residences at TideLock - 1111 N. Fairfax St. and Current - 1055 N. Fairfax St.) for a free, family-friendly event featuring chalk artists, live music from The Okays, local makers and artists showcasing their works, and an array of food and drinks for sale from neighborhood favorites Jula’s on the Potomac, Hank’s Oyster Bar, Hank’s Pasta Bar, and Royal Restaurant.
The Okays perform in front of Salon deZEN (Chalk-A-Block 2025)
This year’s event will feature a judging panel including Mayor Alyia Gaskins and Art League Executive Director Suzanne Bethel. The judging panel will select a “Best in Show” recipient and the Community will have the opportunity to vote on a “People’s Choice” Award.
“Chalk-A-Block” will offer fun for all ages: there will be designated areas where kids (and adults!) can join in and make chalk art of their own. The Mobile Art Lab and art therapists from River Grove Therapy will be on hand to lead community art projects.
“Chalk-A-Block” is free to attend. Parking is available on surrounding streets; follow local signage. TideLock is located right on the Mount Vernon Trail so coming by bike is a great option too!
We can’t wait to see you there!
